Mural Relay
Local artists Jeff Musser, Tony Berger, Nadja Fitchhorn, & Rachel Hartsough created a collaborative, improvisational mural inspired by the Davis community, surrounding environs, and each other. The public got a first-hand opportunity to observe these artists at work as they practiced the art of creative exchange. The mural was launched in Downtown Davis at the 2nd Friday ArtAbout on June 8th, and continued at our temporary studio at 764 5th Street until the installation at the Davis Art Center during the first week of July, where it was finally completed in the Tsao Gallery.
The community was invited to participate in this project. Your suggestions, in the form of found objects, sketches, photographs, magazine cutouts, material swatches, phrases, concepts, words, colors — almost anything meaningful to you or that you find beautiful — were incorporated into the mural, either as creative inspiration or literally placed onto the piece.
